Step-by-Step Instructions for Replacing the Flint in the Prince Dolphin LighterUpdated 5 months ago
1. Locate the Flint Chamber Screw
Turn the lighter upside down. You will see a large, flat-head screw on the bottom, typically located next to the fuel refill valve. This screw is the base of the flint spring assembly.
2. Carefully Remove the Screw and Spring
Use a small screwdriver or a coin to slowly unscrew the base. Apply slight downward pressure while unscrewing, as the spring inside is under tension and may pop out suddenly. Remove both the screw and the attached spring.
3. Remove the Old Flint
Turn the lighter right-side up and gently tap it on a hard surface to dislodge any remaining pieces of the old, worn-out flint. If a small shard is stuck in the tube, use an unfolded paperclip or a small tool to clear the tube, ensuring there is no residue left and that the flint wheel spins freely.
4. Insert the New Flint
Drop one new flint into the empty flint tube.
5. Reassemble the Lighter
Place the spring back into the tube, followed by the screw base. Gently screw the base back in clockwise until it is secure. You may need to apply slight pressure to compress the new flint against the wheel. Ensure the screw is fully tightened to maintain a proper seal.
6. Test the Lighter
Strike the flint wheel to test the new spark. It may take a couple of strikes initially. The new flint should produce a strong spark, allowing your lighter to ignite properly.
